Title: Browning Lake (Murrin Park), July 7th 2011
Post by: cutthroat22 on July 08, 2011, 11:29:04 AM
On my way to Squamish to go mtn biking the rains started pouring down so I stopped here for about 1 hour.

Fishing was very good, using powerbait on the bottom, with lots of 10" fish and I had the entire lake to myself.

What were you using, setup wise?

A 6 weight fly rod with a small spinning reel, 1 medium split-shot and a small hook with a powerbait marshmallow.

This was stuff I leave in the car all the time and was glad I had it because I had no intention of fishing this lake.

Interesting, never would have paired a six-weight with a spinning reel...what led you to try this?  Also, definitely looking to hit this up on a trip to Whistler sometime soon

It does not pair well and I would not recommend it.
