Title: Minnekhada Park...
Post by: Bavarian Raven on May 31, 2011, 06:47:35 PM
Just curious, does anyone know if you are allowed to fish in those two large ponds/small lakes that dominate the centre of the park? I checked the regs and didn't see anything mentioning you couldnt fish there, but I have been known to miss things before :-\
I saw some decent fish rising in there today so I am curious... thanxs for your replies  :) (or feel free to PM me a reply :) )

thanks for the replies. I'm going to try there this weekend... :) i'll let you know how it goes.
ps... since they are "ponds" I presume that means you are allowed to use both bait and barbed hooks? They appear much to big and stagnant to be classified as sloughs...

I've always wondered about the safety of consuming fish from those ponds- anyone know whether or not it's safe?

Thanks,

D$

i fished it for about 2 hrs, several weeks back, the water was still quiet high and fairly cold. no fish. had one bite but never saw the fish. used worms and float for a while, then a gold lure and worm for a while more. finally, a wet fly for a bit at the end. had the bite on the gold lure + worm combo. i'm going to try again one of these next evenings...wish me luck :)

Good Luck, man!   Just out of curiosity, you mentioned the water being high and how it affected the fishing.  Are we talking about the 2 ponds in Minnekhada?

I see that sensitivity about smaller local water diminishes if it is bass.
