Tried fishing Shannon lake while staying in Kelowna. Great little park and picnic ground after a short walk from the parking lot. Lake is better known for Bass and other fish. Had limited success with bass plugs I was using. That the hook on them was too big to hook the smaller type fish I could see attacking it. Local fishers were great in providing their favorite lures and strategies.
On the other hand. After staying around Kelowna again for a few days. :( If Canada was ever faced with the prospect of having to sacrifice a city to a nuclear type blast. Kelowna would be my first choice.

Well, you haven't had the pleasure of living in Mission!
As for the bass, I have found size 4 hooks were well.

Shannon lake with a golf course on west side and septic tanks around is well fertilized, so it has a lot of aquatic life. There is perch, LM bass, rainbows, squaw fish, and
even bullheads and turtles find home in there. I caught all of these species mentioned above in there over the years. Unfortunately due to pollution water in this little lake stinks. Same with the fish ,and specially rainbow trouts, they are not edible. Lot of fun with C@R though.
