Title: Buntzen Lake
Post by: Britguy on May 03, 2011, 07:46:55 PM
Does anyone know if Buntzen is accessable by pontoon now?
I did hear that it was fenced off for a while  :-\
Thanks thinking of heading out there in the morning :)

The boat ramp itself is flooded and fenced off, but you can still get quite close to the water with your vehicle to drop your stuff off - close enough for inflatables and okay for car toppers if you have an extra body to haul the boat over the fence.

How much do you get a pound for scrap fencing these days? 8)

I was able to put my kayak under the fence between the 2 blocks on the boat ramp. forget how wide it is though. not wide enough for a boat but maybe a pontoon, again I forget but it wasn't a tight fit as I remember it? The fence there is only that orange construction kind and flimsy.

I believe there is a walk way but it is much farther up for some reason but if you can drag it....

Give them a call and see if they know the measurement between them?

or

You could also bring a saw and make a walk way.... :-\ it's only wood... ;D

I get my car topper in there by myself every week and I also see lots of other pontoon boats on the water too. I can slide my pram under the fence with room to spare.
Also there are a few spots west of the fenced area where you can launch from.
