with this cold weather, you will be lucky to see water before May.

check the Tunkwa site for an idea, it is lower and ice free before Roche.

canso is right.  we are getting snow above 1200 meters everyday for the last few weeks.  still winter here in merritt area.  rain is supposed to start soon....waiting?

i too am anxious!

fresh snow helmer last night.  below freezing temperatures again last night.  i hope spring break up starts soon.

wind and rain can take the ice off quick.

I follow the interior lakes ice-offs closely. Roche will ice off in early May this year barring any extremely hot windy weather. You wont be fishing it by Easter. I am planning my Easter trip to White Lake in Salmon Arm, but may consider something closer to Kamloops weather and ice dependant.

Yup. A better question is if Roche will be off by Victoria Day.

Is there a web site that you can check for ice off conditions? I know tunkwa lake has a web cam, but are there any other camera's out there?

They post a picture of the day. Last photo was taken two days ago. From the looks of it I would say its not even close. Atleast a couple weeks.

its going to be a late start this year.  today we just had 4 inches of snow in most places on the pine plateaus.  8 inches in the subalpine spruce areas.  a bit of water showing along the shore of courtney lake near aspen grove.

Just went over the connector yesterday.  For reference purposes, Corbett is still 90% iced over.
