Title: Anyone tried tube jigs for steelhead?
Post by: bigblue on March 03, 2011, 03:30:54 PM
I read somewhere that anglers in Great Lakes area were having success catching steelhead using 1.5~2" tube jigs used for crappie fishing.
Wondering if anyone tried it in BC and had any success.

Yeah.... I bought 3 packs of 2" tube jigs (funny salted stuff they sell here in Alberta for crappie fishing)
Can't try it out until I get back home. ;D

Tried one out under a float in the fall- caught a chum. Hammered it.

Yeah.... I tried it a few times this season, but no luck so far.
I think it might be suited for smaller mid-west rivers but not for our bigger and faster western rivers.
