Tag myself and the wife and the son in hopes of winning some tickets ;D

If only tonights 6/49 odds were that good, Id still find a way to lose. ::)

95 entries now, but the chance of winning a ticket is still better than me catching a steelhead. :o

im interested as well. Can anyone who's gone to this event in previous years shine a little light on this question?
I too am in the market for a fly line or 2 as well as possibly a new reel. Would it be worth it to wait til next weekend to get on some of these "deals"?
cheers,

Here is the list of exhibitors that will be at the show:
http://www.squarefeetevents.ca/sportsmen/exhibitor-list.asp
Between a few Lower Mainland stores that are attending, you should be able to find what you need.
it's also a good opportunity for you to ask manufacturers questions about products that you are interested in.
-
great. thanks for the info rod!

Gee maybe I can find out why the clicker on the new islander searuns are so weak.

or why the bearings have such a rumble, or why the space between the spool and backplate is so big that line gets caught in it....I sold mine after using it twice, junk

Looks to be a good show...
Checked over the list & even the Sooke Resort /marina is represented.
Something there should interest somebody.
May be wrong on this but this show may be more geared to the fresh water fisherman & the International Vancouver Boat Show more to the salt sportsfisherman/& cruising boats...

Just a few hours left until the draw closes.

Hi Guys,
Anyone at the show tonight see any good deals on breathable waders from any of the vendors?
I am working all weekend but may have a couple hours late Saturday afternoon and would really like a good reason to make the trip out from Vancouver
Cheers
-
Was there yesterday in the afternoon - the place was packed - almost needed a shuttle service from the parking lot - met Rod at the DNE booth. Many Vendors selling their wares - saw some breathable waders there but didn't note the prices as I wasn't in the market for them. I was however drooling at a few of the boats from Wellscraft. Man o man o man! ;D
-
I stopped by after work yesterday and was looking for a wading jacket. Not much to choose from and nothing left in my size xl-xxl. Wasn't really looking for waders but if you need a common size you might be out of luck by tonight.

I am leaving for the show in about an hour. Hope to see some of you there

I work around the corner from tradex, so I worked just a half day and headed to the show Friday. I thought it was a pretty good show.
Was nice to see a few familiar faces there. I picked up some scotty anchor locks for my boat for a great price from Stevenson marine, some balanced leaches, pumpkin heads and some minnow patterns from Riverside, and a pretty cool fish till death shirt from Searun.
I checked out a lot of the free seminars. Phil Rowley always has some great stillwater tips to offer. Although I already tie some of my own jigs on bentrod's DIY hook/bead/pin kits, I definitely picked up on a few pointers from his tying demo. I viewed the fly fishing film tour show upstairs which was pretty interesting. Was unreal to see how they would attract billfish with teasers, then quickly pull them out of the way and get their fly in there. The metalheads part really got the blood pumping. Sure got the itch to pull the trigger on a spey setup but I resisted. The revolution is calling lol. Was funny watching Brian Niska show a couple spey basics with only a couple feet wide casting pond. Also after talking with Thomas and Vic, I really want to do an upper pitt trip this year to fly fish for searun bulls. One of the things I really have yet to do and at the top of my list.

Fred's has a deal on flies buy a dozen for $1.99 and get another dozen free. If you are into bass fishing as an alternate they have some great frogs, crayfish, and mouse patterns. With bass flies going for $5 a pop Fred's deal is a steel. They also have a good supply of stone nymphs, stimulators, and irresistibles.

So how was the show for everyone?
