Got up really early to get ready for Chinese New Year preparation. Made the traditional vegetarian dish so the wife doesn't give me the "look".
It was 6:45am when I got into my car and made the one hour trip to the Vedder.
Water looks good- about 24" visibility.
Within 10 minutes, hooked into a buck of about 10lbs. Landed the wild fish and gently let it go.
Walked down Lickman and noticed about 10 people fishing so I decided to head to a different spot. As I was leaving, I heard someone screaming Fish On!!!
Did not bother to watch so I drove to another spot.
When I got there, I noticed some small fish jumping up and down. Thinking that something must be chasing it, I put on a piece of roe and within 4 feet of drifting, the float dipped a bit. I striked hard and the fight was on again. It was a small hen of about 7 lbs and since this was my first one of the season, I decided to take it home with me.
