Title: Jig tying seminar
Post by: Geff_t on February 01, 2011, 10:15:00 AM
Hatch Match'r Fly and Tackle is pleased to have Rod Toth, owner of Bent Rod Jigs, at the store to talk about fishing with jigs. Rod will demonstrate the proper way to set up your equipment, talk about which areas of the river are conducive to jig fishing, explain why jigs are so effective and demonstrate proper tying techniques so you can create your own fish catching jigs.

Short floating jigs has really come into its own the past few years in B.C. and is now one of the go to methods for catching steelhead and salmon. This technique is quite different from the usual float fishing methods with roe or wool and can be a little frustrating to novice anglers without a little guidance. Rod's expertise and years of experience in fishing and tying jigs really shows. He is always more than willing to let out his secrets (well, most of them).

Hatch Match'r will be supplying hooks and materials to tie 2 jigs each. If you don't have a vise, no problem, let us know and we will supply one. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your fishing knowledge and learn one of the hottest new fishing techniques around.

Location: Hatch Match'r Learning Center
Date: February 12th (Saturday)
Time: 2:00 - 4:30 pm
Cost: $10.00 (cash only)

Seating is limited so please call (604) 467-7118 to reserve your seat.

Two of my buddies went, but I wasn't able to due to family committments. If you were to run another in the upcoming months, I would go in a heartbeat. (hint, hint...)  :)
