Title: Fishing in and around Princeton
Post by: Preliator on January 31, 2011, 04:18:57 AM
Hey guys. I'm out of town working near Princeton. This was suppose to be my first Steelhead season, but it looks like it won't be happening now. From the locals that I have spoke too, there is not much for Steelheed fishing in the area... a couple of weeks ago, the rivers were almost frozen over  :D. I was going to try ice fishing in some of the many lakes in the area, but due to warmer weather, I'm skeptical about the ice conditions. If there isn't another cold snap there, I'll be having to save my newly purchased auger until next winter.

At any rate, I need to get my fishing on. On the drive back to and from the Lower Mainland, there are many nice looking systems, most of which past Hope are surrounded in snow. Quite beautiful, really. Could anyone tell me if they would be worth getting my line wet at this time of year? Hopefully I'm not out of luck until spring!!

Temperature around Princeton is cold enough to tighten the lakes again. Ice fishing time is on again if you are in to it.

I'm back home for a couple of days but I hope the temperature keeps. I may go up a day early so I can get a day's worth of ice fishing. Thanks for the update!

--similkameen has good resident trout and whitefish populations... like yo said careful with ice near shore.

Hahaha yes here he is in the flesh. Have you guys been out much this month? I'm missing a good season it seems but am trying to make up for it. If you have some time off let me know and we can arrange a trip when I get back on a turnaround.
