I have a Fishcat 9 and wondering if anyone has recommendations on a good fish finder for it. Really just looking to get a good read on the depth for chironomid fishing and better idea of the shoals. So far I have been weighing down my line and counting out the feet but it is getting old fast. Thanks for your time.

--a fishin buddy II... has side vision as well to pick up on shoals and cruising fish.. Weight on a line is the most accurate though.
--If you don't go for side vision then may as well use the line. Unlike trolling no point in knowing there are fish passing under your boat.

I have a cuda 300 portable, it is pretty good

Skaha the fishin buddy line is owned by Humminbird now and goes by numbers for the different models. the old I & II arent made anymore and are almost impossible to get replacement parts for as well
I own a Fishin Buddy 110 and my dad uses a 120. only difference between them is he has a side view option but he doesnt use it because it drains battery life quickly. the 110 is perfect because it gives you water temps and depths of the bottom, structure and even fish swimming by to give you an idea where they are.
Dan-O : i have the exact same pontoon as you do and just have the fish finer mounted with the strap mount. I will make one suggestion though to get the one made by Cabelas because the strap is alot longer than the one made by Humminbird. i have the "proper" one and it fits very very tight around the pontoon(loose as possible) where my dads (cabelas) has extra strap he can adjust still

thanks for the info guys. hook, sounds like that will be the best option for me as i am more about water depth and temperature. the fish come to me. ;D. maybe i will get myself a little something for christmas. have a good holiday season everyone!

hi dan o if I could sugest go with the fishing budy 130 the diference between that and the 120 makes a wourld of diference they run a little bit more but the side scan and higher resolution is amazing I had the 120 a good unit , but it was stolen and I ended up with a 130 replacement night and day difference also agree get cabelas tube mount it is the cats my friend for pontoons ..... also if you are interested my dad has a 130 still in the box unused he retired this year and the boys from work chiped in and bought him the fishfinder , unfortunatley he had one on his jon boat and basicaly asked me if I knew anybody interested in it, he wants $200 for it ( a awsome price i paided $322 for mine in jan this year ) I think they retail for $299 plus hst now at whole sale sports just a sugestion if you would like to see mine I could show you it is awsome ;D
