Title: Any locals fish the hope slough?
Post by: AreYouNewHere on December 10, 2010, 09:40:31 PM
Outta curiousty... how many of you fish there? (locals should know the place) I've been hitting it on weekends as it's too dark by the time I get home from work. Usually Sunday morning/early afternoon since the salmon fishing slowed. Head out with one of my sons or my daughter and a buddy of mine. Tossing spoons for cutties. It's a race to see who can get what seems to be the 1 fish per hole  :D People look at ya kinda odd when they see us heading down with rod in hand....  ::) Just catch and release but it sure is great time spent with my kids and they will find that out when they finally hook up with one  ;)

I use to fish there all the time with my dad when I was growing up. Fished with spinners or just worm and weight. We use to get some good sized cuthroat sometimes and other times we would catch cat fish or northern pike minnow. It was good fun and yes people did give us weird looks sometimes but it can be fun especially for kids. I think people dont really consider it becuase it is a slough full of weeds and ducks.
