Thank goodness. This project was going to result in a transmission line right through the Jumbo Creek wilderness in the middle of the Purcell Mountains.
One of Gordo's really evil actions was to remove from the Regional Districts the right to regulate developments like these hydro projects. In case you have forgotten, this was done to facilitate the Ashlu project near Squamish but applied province wide.

That is always the reason given when a dumb project collapses. It would be refreshing for once to see a company state 'it turned out to be a stupid proposal from a social and environmental perspective and justifiable public outrage alerted us to the problems'.
