Title: Alouette River Management Society needs Volunteers
Post by: leadbelly on October 16, 2010, 04:39:50 PM
Missed the Fraser clean up today as Arms is short on volunteers for the Maple Ridge spawner surveys in the local creeks so I did that instead.
They are looking for a couple more people, takes about 1/2 an hour once a week, usually weekends and goes for about a month.
Its a great way to put a little back into our fisheries, learn about salmon and their habitat and they have a cool thank you party afterwards too.Today I learned about the recent additional later run of sockeye that trickled in.
you can call them at 604-467-6401 email arms@telus.net web page http://www.alouetteriver.org/index.html
Also hit 3 coho today fishin the Fraser with a spoon, one wild one too acrobatic to land and a big hatch buck that gave me a really memorable battle.
cheers.
