Title: albion test coho numbers
Post by: kosanin kosher salt on October 04, 2010, 05:48:35 PM
has anyone seen  the numbers posted on albion test fishery  over the last couple of days .    cause those are some really good numbers for coho  , thought it could be mistake  but then went to go see pacific salmon commision  and they reported  catch of 125 coho the other day . are they simply putting a specific net so they could just target the coho,  or are we in for fantastic coho fishing in the next little bit...

I don't see the same numbers but they did have a good net set a few days ago.
They run a chinnok mesh(8") so they only get the good size coho's.
So far i see a total of 107 since Aug.

Looks like you are reading the wonnock test fishery, which runs a sockeye gillnet Much small and will catch a lot more coho, and yes they did get a good run, and yes those numbers are really high..
