Title: Tidal Fraser River, September 14th 2010
Post by: Rodney on September 14, 2010, 03:49:50 PM
It has been so long since I last saw a fish in my hand that I almost forgot what they look like. ::) Lately I have been popping down to spots near our place with a fly rod for a couple of hours at a time. Nothing to show except a couple of brief hook-ups at times and sightings of trout, pikeminnow and possibly jacks. The water clarity has been excellent, so there really are no excuses for not catching any fish. The only reason that I can think of is they are completely stuffed with all the sockeye guts and flesh floating down the river. :p

Last night I tied up some big pink flies after reading cutthroat22's success. This afternoon I went out to flick them in the wind for awhile and finally managed to trick a fish. This one stuffed the entire fly in its big mouth, almost looked like a bass. ;D

Too many casts for one fish. At least the casting is improving, I think. ::)

Nice one.  They do look a little bass/walleye like with their big mouths.
