Title: Fraser River mouth, September 7th 2010
Post by: gofishon on September 08, 2010, 07:06:10 AM
I was out yesterday morning with my nephew. We didn't have to go far. the sockeye were jumping everywhere :D. There were very few boats out. Didn't have to go further than the airport / Iona area. funny how I read all the negative comments on many posts about the "flossery" in the river. I can't comment on that, never done it. Out here it is sport :P. I tie my own variations of hoochie skirts and it is rewarding when a new one outfishes the others. Great fun when the fish are so plentiful to experiment with lures, leader lengths, flasher colour, depths, trolling speeds and direction. A sockeye run to remember. Maybe once in a lifetime :-\.

They are indeed still there. Caught a real mixed bag of sizes today. Looks like there are many different runs staging near the mouth. Great news.
