Title: Chilliwack River, August 12th 2010
Post by: deepcovehooker on August 13, 2010, 02:09:29 PM
Headed up to the Vedder with two fishing buddies yesterday.  Went there as the mob scene on the Fraser did not seem that enjoyable.

Fished from 8 am till 2 pm and only saw about four our people on the river.  Fished from the railway bridge down to the K/W bridge.

No springs or sockeye caught or seen, however lots of small trout.  One of our guys fly fishing picked up about 15.

Thanks for the report. I was thinking about going on the weekend trying my luck on the fly. Anyone have latest updates on the Chilliwack?
Or would it be better to try my luck on the Fraser ...???

Depends.....  If you want meat go to the Fraser. If you want sport fishing go to the Chilliwack River....

Was there a few days ago with my 4 wt. Had a great evening not a soul in sight. Caught quite a few 8 to 11 inch rainbows , and one that was about 12 to 13 inches and it was a wild one! All the others were ad clipped.
Just used dry flies
