Fellas
Any of you ever fished or know of the possibility of fishing on this island? I live a stone's throw from this place and just wondering.

Because of the private farm land and native's land I believe there are only a couple of spots where you can access the river.

In addition to the private property there are lots of log booms close to the ferry that make shore fishing difficult as well.
I live fairly close too and usually choose to go upriver to the Derby Reach area because of better access and less booms.

I went for a hike on this side of barnston and came across a few fishing sites, where someone had recently fished. one had a fire pit with a fresh burn in it[even though the side said no fires :o] the second left me a gift of a couple of unopened leures:)

If you gonna bring your car it's really hard to Park cause the whole island is a one way street no shoulder to park a car best bet is walk it out from the ferry then explore the island by foot you'll find a descend spot

Hello fellow fisher,
Have you fished there before? i do have a boat and wondering if it might improve my odds fishing from the boat in the area. Any advise?
Thanks in advance.

Depends what you want to fish for?

A boat is definitely helpful. As I mentioned there are a lot of log booms and private property. Having a boat places you where you want. Try the south side of the island a couple hundred yards or so downstream from the ferry.......and not too far from shore. It drops fairly quickly but quite often they travel fairly close to the drop off. When schools of salmon go by that's where you usually see them finning.
