Title: Launching a motorized canoe at Ruskin Dam Rec Site?
Post by: canuckjgc on August 07, 2010, 07:47:54 PM
Hi all,

I've never actually been to the Stave River.  Is it feasible to launch a motorized (square stern) canoe from the Ruskin Dam Rec Site?  The BC Hydro site does not mention a car top boat launch at that site.  Is the water deep enough to motor there?  Or even paddle / motor?

Any help appreciated -- it's a long drive just to discover it can't be done.  I have wheels for the canoe if I have to haul it, but more than a couple of hundred meters would be a bit much.

Thoughts?

Sure, you just have to carry it down because the launch is locked.

Thanks, how far is the carry down?  Also, is the water deep enough there?
