Title: Lost It All
Post by: chris gadsden on August 01, 2010, 11:15:21 PM
While out checking the Fraser today I stopped at Peg Leg. There was a couple bar fishing from their truck. Because of the channel shift caused by gravel removal there is plenty of water to fish there now.

I asked "anything today"? The gentleman answered "not today but while we were sitting in our camper yestereday having breakfast my wife's fishing rod hooked a fish but by the time we got out of the truck everything was gone".

He also told me a couple was outside the camper watching and, it saw one of the bystanders making a vailant attempt to try and reach the pole before the Fraser claimed another bit of fishing gear but came up empty handed after he dove on his stomack to try and grab the briefly floating gear.

You forgot the comma, the story changes a bit when you let the readers choose where it should be placed. ;D

I came real close to losing a rod years back on Bowmans.
Must have been aggate hunting or wandering too far.
It was on the ground by the time i got to it. ;D

We lost a bar rod fishing years back. The tug boats were kicking up enough wake and threw the stern up on the bar and  swept away our rod and a holder.

It was our best bar rig setup. So I pulled out the bottom boucing gear and a hour later was able to snag the pyramid weight, which we got into shore. The reel had free spooled itself and the bar setup was a couple hundred feet down river, only thing holding it in place was the weight. got lucky this time.

Hey Chris, same thing happened to Ron this year. Rod started going off, was down the bar a bit, didn't get to it in time, watched it get dragged out to the middle and dissapear.
