Title: Heat wave

So where do you go thats within 2 hours of Vancouver to fly fish with a U boat during a heat wave ?
I've tried Brohm in Squamish last weekend and only landed one very small cuttie.
I was thinking of going to Mike lake but from what I've read it's not producing much right now.
All the local lakes are packed with swimmers and "YaHoo's " making it a very noisey fishing trip with little or no luck.
The only place I can think of that is good for fishing year round is Alta in Whistler. I hate to make that long drive only to be skunked by the summer dulldrums again

Any ideas ?

What kind of fly line do you use there? Full sink?

--go high elevation and start early... usually fish nickleplate near apex ski resort in august.

@ 2hrs for your trip, you apparently are well acquainted with the local RCMP up there ;D

Any how, if you dont mind hiking, you should try Green Drop and Lindeman Lake up the Chilliwack Valley.
Nothing huge, but Green drop especially is non-stop action, lots of fun on a 3 weight. The kind of lakes that will make you feel good about your flyfishing abilities... ;D ;D ;D
