There are thousands of lakes in that area and many would be worth trying. As just an example, you could keep an eye on the fishing reports that are posted every few days at the Tunkwa Lake Resort website. Lots of good info there. You may even get a FWR member here give you a tip on their favourite lake for that time of year. You may have to give some more info on what type of vehicle you have, what type of fishing gear you favour, etc. Stay tuned and Good Luck.!

If you have the budget for a pay lake try out batstone at 71/2 diamond ranch outside of merrit. fly fishing and catch and release only with a lot of really big lunkers hanging around.  Gwen lake outside of merrit is free and has a lot of nice fish, but a little more reluctant to come to the fly.

Tunkwa and Leighton Lakes are pretty good bets for the end of July and early August. If you don't have a boat, Tunkwa Lake Resort offers boat rental. You need to get some large chironomid patterns for the bomber hatches. These don't have to be fished with a fly rod, you can use them under a float with a spinning rod.

Here are some video clips from our trip in early August a few years ago.
