Leave nothing in the car that would attract thieves.  Also, leave the car unlocked and the windows cracked.  The thief will see that he can get in without smashing anything, have a look, and hopefully leave the car as he found it.  This is what I used to do when I lived downtown and parked in an open parking structure.  Got tired of my windows being smashed for pocket change.  Once I started doing these things, I had no troubles.  The worst that might happen is my door would get left open and the battery was drained from the dome light running.

Take everything out of your car and leave it unlocked......  then wait for him with the bat!  ;D

Did they steal anything or do some damage to your car?

As Cameron said, don't leave anything valuable in the car. Park in a well lit area if possible, install a car alarm system.

What do you have in your car that is attracting the thieves ? Car break ins are usually a crime of opportunity. It's obvious you have something that is attracting them.

Where did this happen? I would sell the car or move. Or maybe the bible will stop him after he has read it. Between break-ins.

Once I left a car unlocked , so someone went in snooped through my glove box found nothing to steal , but had the courtesy of turning on my head lights to drain my battery while i was gone . At least they didn't take my registration , I guess they could have .
