Good to see you fly fisher. I usually use two flies(#12) for crappie at Whonnock.

Bead chain eye leech

Smoken! Crappie on Whonnock is the best dry fly action in the lower mainland. Good for you Fly. Keep it up and one day that lake will up one of it's rare lunker trout (10lb).

Just got back in town fly fish. I have found Royal Coachman, Royal Wulff, Black Gnat (tie them yourself with a spars body, store brands are to thick), and Tom Thumb to be best.

Matt B., Is that just an olive woolly bugger on a 1/8 jig hook?

Are there crappie in Hatzic Lake also?

Yes there is, I don't know how the fishing is in there now seeing as I haven't been there in probably just over a decade.... Give it a try!
