Hello,
I haven't been camping in ages (never in BC since i moved here in late 2006) and want to go this July for a weekend. I am looking for a place where i can hopefully spin cast and fly fish from shore with some success, and camp with my wife and some friends. I don't mind driving 300 to 500 km from Vancouver. Maybe even a place where we could rent a boat to fish from and camp at?
Thank you for your suggestions. :)

--check out www.bcfroa.ca BC resort owner outfitters association. The site has pictures and descriptions of many smaller lodges mostly in good fishing areas.

http://www.tunkwalakeresort.com
Tunkwa Lake resort has camping on their venue and it has flushable toilets and showers for $20/night. There's also a provincial park beside the resort that is between Leighton Lake and Tunkwa Lake for $16/night. This is just 45mins after Merrit on 97C(3.5hrs from Vancouver)
As well, check out:
Golden Ears Provincial
Sasquatch Provincial
Sasquatch Provincial has three lakes which includes Deer, Hicks and Trout. It is a short drive from Harrison Lake. HAPPY CAMPING/FISHING!

--The fishing's is to good at Tunkwa so you probably wouldn't have time to enjoy the many hiking trails or even the trek over to Leighton. Local sports shop in Merritt..Powder keg ..I think now called Nicola valley outdoors has good local knowledge and local tied flies... as well fly shop at Logan lake.

Catch and release at Tunkwa. Not required by the regs, but definitely the taste buds. Leighton a little less so, but still you can't bury them in enough lemon, garlic or any other means to make them palatable.

You can try Fawn Lake resort its about a 5hr drive up near 100 mile house. Really good fishing and a nice quite lake to boot. You can rent a boat there for cheap and the campsites are really nice.
Hope this helps
