The Buntzen powerhouse on Indian Arm is undergoing a turbine replacement and will remain out of service until approximately late November, 2010.

Currently, Buntzen Lake Recreation Area is open; however, with the powerhouse out of service, higher than average reservoir levels will result in the following conditions and closures throughout the summer and fall:

    * The South Beach will be reduced to a small strip of sand;
    * The North Beach and grass area may be closed;
    * The boat launch, access road, and turn-around may be closed;
    * Sections of the Buntzen Lake Trail may be closed;
    * Some docks may be closed.

Thinking of fishing there tomorrow I don,t need a boat launch just need to get my pontoon to waters edge. So I guess it is open to fishing.

No question about that, but you will have to pack it right from the parking lot. I do not need a boat launch for my punt either, but packing it from the parking lot is pretty far. They had the road down to the boat launch closed last time I was there. I just need to be within 50 meters or so of the beach. I'll have new neoprene waders next week, so I'll be able to use my float tube.   tight lines
ps ; Thanks gents for the info
