Title: 10 Pound Berkley Fire Line Original Fused
Post by: ssd0904 on April 17, 2010, 09:07:15 PM
Is it ok to fish for rainbow trout with the line above? It's diameter is samed as 4pound test, so i was thinking of it? (I have the line already but i was to use one reel for both purposes, trout and fluke because i dont have any extra reels for fluke, and 4 pound test is too weak for fluke)

I think you should be fine, I use braid with a mono leader for many rods (trout, salmon, ocean jigging rod, etc).  Most times I will try and get a decent amount of mono between the braid and the lure.  I use an albright know to join the two lines.  I have never tried it with 4-6lb mon and 10lb braid but it has worked great with 15 to 65 and 12 to 20 joins that I have made (mono to braid).  I usually use 15 wraps of mono around the braid loop.

Here's instructions: http://www.animatedknots.com/albright/index.php

Oh ok because rainbow trouts are sensitive and can see the lines, so i thought it would be too thick for them. Thanks.
