Title: Buntzen Lake, April 10th 2010
Post by: milo on April 10, 2010, 08:16:07 PM
Horrible cold wind didn't let up all day.
Two foot chops with white caps almost all the time.  :o
Tried a bunch of flies and caught only two little rainbows (10 and 12") for my effort, trolling a full sink line and a sparkly pumpkinhead  leech.

After roughing it in the wind for four hours, I decided to call it a day.
Give me rain, fog, snow, scorching sun, but please, please, don't blow me off the water!
But that is exactly what happened today.  :'(

Water temperature was 43F, very few people out, and very few fish, too.
I was actually hoping to catch a couple big ones before they stock it with catchables, but it didn't happen.

Darn wind, hate the wind! >:(

On a positive note, the craft is in excellent working order for stillwater season. Yeeeehaaaawww! ;D

u wanna catch big ones in buntzen? u need a ford fender or a willow leaf, and good old worms. works best. thats what my dad used to catch his 8 pounder in there and what i lost my monster on while trying to net it. (this one was bigger then the 8 pounder, go figure my luck). and u need to troll by the second bay on the western side of the lake. just my tips, good luck.
