Title: Does anyone know anything about this centerpin reel
Post by: Rieber on April 10, 2010, 08:28:07 AM
I'm curious to learn more about the reel I recently bought.

First question is who the maker might be as there are no manufacturers marks on it. It could be a prototype or one of a kind maybe as it doesn't look anodized.

The outermost diameter is 5-1/4" with a inner spool width of 15/16"

It has two bearings and spins very nice and true.

If anyone has any ideas I would certainly like to know.

Thanks.

I bought it from a chap this morning along with a 4"Speedia and 12-1/2' fibreglass rod.

My monies on a custom build one off, some machinist with some time on his hands. Lots of them were produced in England and Im betting thats the origin.

Unless it a very early Stanton, Stantons have a different reel foot attachment to the back plate.

I keep searching the 'Net for picks - lots are close but the backs are different.
