Title: Rolley lake fishing on the fly

I'm heading out to Rolley this Sunday to take my bellyboat on it's first excursion of the year.

I'll be using a float line and I'm wondering whether anyone can offer advice on choice of flies?

Try a chironomid
green wooly bugger with bead and split shot on your leader to get it down
Black leech with bead and split shot on your leader to get it down
If you want to try for the small cutties hit the shallows with a small black fly and quick strip
The lake just got stocked so the trout may not be too deep right now and you may see them rising

Static bag chironimid work well as does the pumpkin head fly. If you do not tie your own flies just drop in to Hatch Matchr's on the way to the lake as they have a ton of them especially the pumpkin head. Also try a olive micro leech pattern.

I may drop in to Hatch Matchr's on my way back to the city since I plan on getting to the lake nice and early!

I don't think the gate opens until 8 A.M. better check it out before you go, there is not much around for breakfast. ;)
