Tidal site down until April 1st.

And then a server crash when a lot of folks try to renew at the same time and some of your info went thru but you don't know if you paid or not >:(

Let's hope not.

Every year it's the same old story. You can buy your freshwater licence but not the saltwater at the same time til after the new fiscal year.

Bought mine today at Army and navy and don't like this new system. I really liked the old one, but hey that's technology.

I won't buy the license until they stock the fish in local lakes. This also give the fresh water fishery some pressure to stock the fisk ASAP

um yeah sure lol ;D
I'm in no rush to renew my tidal licence until the salmon runs start up. Fresh water and steelhead tag are purchased for the new season.

new license and new tag. so when the new winter run begins next year you're already paid up as well.
I could be wrong but I believe after April there is only fly fishing allowed on the vedder for may and then fishing is closed for the month of June

Make sure you have your angler number with you when you go to your local shop to buy your license. It is illegal to have more then one angler number. If you have already thrown out your license and you do not have your angler number there is a 1-800 number you have to call.

The new system is a joke.

Me too. I wouldn't have it any other way.
In the past you would:
a) go into a retailer who would have no copies of the paper licence
b) return to the retailer the following week, stand in line for 20 minutes while the clerk manually fills out everyone elses information
c) when it's finally your turn, stand and wait for them to fill in your information while feeling the glares from the line behind you
d) pay your money (cash only since many retailers wouldn't accept credit for licences)
Finally get out of there having wasted 40 minutes and 2 trips

would like to purchase mine today (or this weekend anyway) and I haven't fished in years. I always bought mine from retailers in the past.

I like the idea of printing my license when I purchase it online. What happens if I lose or it gets soaked (from fishing) and ruined, can I re-print another copy?

Thanks

Dennis

New system is great:
- buy from home and print yourself
- print new copies if you lose or get wet
- add classified water or species tags yourself as you need them

downsides:
- potential for fraud: easy to photoshop the pdf
- how many poachers will just print new licenses when they catch their yearly limit of springs?

As convenient as it would appear, I cannot purchase my tidal licence at this time.  I have tried with 3 different cards and it keeps saying the same thing.

The payment could not be processed: Transaction unsuccessful

Grrrr.  I liked the old system just fine.

I put my freshwater licence on one side and the saltwater one on the other. Cuts down on paper.

You must use the full sized version. Apparently the large pattern in the corner can be read by a machine by a CO. Pretty hard to counterfeit that pattern.
