Finally!!!
After a thousand casts, at 4:10 PM today, I met a hatchery steelhead that agreed to come home with me! ;D
On a red and white clouser minnow, somewhere in the canal...;)
Nice 9 to 10-pound doe. Great dinner tomorrow!

Well done!!!! I was fishing around the canal and hooked into one briefly. My cousin got one too but it got off too.
Saw 4 hooked, 2 wild and 2 got off.

Nice job Milo!!

Nice fish. I have been working at the Olympics and Paralympics so have not been out much lately. Hope to get back to fishing on Wednesday, need to catch at least one this year.

Right on, Milo!!! That's great to hear, so glad you landed it!

Way to go! I'm jealous! *sniff* *sniff* I got the skunk on me still, peeeuuuuu

Nice fish Milo ;) :)

Thanks, guys! :)
It was really getting frustrating.
I've had a few on last season and this (on the fly), but this is the first one that came to hand.
(There was a wild one a month ago which I almost got to shore, but it broke me off in the last moment.)
Yesterday I connected with another one briefly earlier in the day, but it spat the fly after a couple of jumps!
Hatchery or not, they are really feisty critters, making my hook up to landing ratio dismal!
-
If you were using your hand to hold the rod instead of your mouth while fighting the fish, you'd have landed a lot more! ;D
Nice silver fish. ;)
-
So what did you do with the roe since you're now using the fly? I'm always looking for donations, LOL.
-
I just noticed this my friend. Sure glad you did have a good day as you needed it. Wish I could have joined you to see you land that as the look on your face would have been priceless.
-
congratulations. Beauty fish
-
nice fish milo, great to see you get one. By the way is that one of those new cork rod's that doubles as a harmonica, and if so ,what song were you playing? :D
