On tonights CTV news hour at 6pm they will be doing a report on Farmed vs Wild salmon. They are doing tests on both. I wonder what they will find. I think they will testing the meat of both.

dang missed it too. as a cook I am against farmed salmon for a variety of reasons culinary wise. But more so because of the enviromental damage

thanks for the link, unfortunately they'll never take away those open ocean farms

To bad they did not include how much damage is caused by the the fish farms in our echo system, then maybe the consumer would have a different view about purchasing farmed Salmon
-
-- my conclusion from this video, farmed salmon are couch potatoes.. fat and out of shape.

Marry Ellen Walling (BC Salmon Farmers Association) "We're replicating the diet as closely as possible... ...so they are eating what their wild salmon cousins are eating"
-arn't the pellets corn based?
-atlantic salmon are cousins to pacific salmon? really?
-
How can you do an objective comparison between fish when one is from the atlantic and one is from the pacific. That's a huge variable. Also they failed to mention that farmed salmon has way less mercury than wild and more omega 3s.

if you watched the other two videos they had posted they clearly stated that altho the farmed has more fatty acid because they're just fat fish, they also said the wild salmon had better omega 3 than the farmed.
