Title: Hardening single eggs???
Post by: Blackgivesway2blue on February 12, 2010, 08:29:28 PM
I bought some Atlas Mr.Trout single eggs and every time i put them on the hook they pop open and all the inside's come out onto the hook.  Is there a way i could harden them or something??? or should i just tie them into spawn sacs???

use spawn sacs...don't ruin them by putting them in boiling water.

Boiling is how to harden single eggs but who knows what is allready in the cure that Atlas uses.
U could try a couple to see how it works but im thinking your better off using them is sacs as well.
The colour will wash out some but hey you never know.Could be the secret ticket to success.

unfortuantely its too late to water harden them and I cooking em will change their color and possibly size (a batch I cooked shrunk)....so yes, best bet that wont change color, scent, size, etc is roe sacks.
