Put in another good day and was rewarded right at the end! After flogging my usual circuit, I decided to explore some new water and found a small, shallow seam beside some heavy rapids. I wasn't expecting much as it was quite unassuming and I was pretty tired after hiking for most of the day. I tied on my lucky jig and after a few drifts, the float dipped! Halfheartedly setting the hook, I felt a good sized fish on the other end. Unfortunately, that one was not to be as she spat the hook and fled. A few more drifts with the jig produced nothing, so I switched over to a small roe bag and that was the ticket! A short tussle produced this beauty. Luckily, a gentleman walking by was kind enough to snap a photo for me.

lol. I actually cropped it off myself, I had the sleaziest look on my face :D. Funny how contorted your face can get when you're excited.

Haven't caught any hatches yet myself, but there's plenty of time left :)
