I met up at 7:30am with a FWR forum member who had a centerpin and rod to sell. Took a look at it and liked it so parted with some cash and headed to the river.  I wasn't intending to use it today but didn't want to leave in the car either.

Once at the chosen spot I thought "what the heck" I'll try it out. 3rd cast and the float shoots down, fish on! First thing I thought was that I'm always filming  Winter steel with a fish on, so I turned on the camera and put it on a rock.

Fought it for about 5 min and as it tired I saw it was a hatch- nice! but as it was at my feet the leader snapped and it won its freedom. Not so bad as I was happy to break in the new rod so fast.

Not many guys in my area. Great day!

Video on you tube called "3rd cast on the new center pin."

Good to see you give the set-up a little test.   :o  Sweet. Good luck with the pin and rod.
