Hi all,
After a Happy Holiday, hope everyone is fine.
I am little concern about the CRAB SNARES, is it legal to use this in BC.
How safe to eat the Dungeness Crab from Burrerd Inlet?
Thanks in advanced.

Thank you Rodney,
I have read these articles and search as much possible, nowhere mentioned the Crab Snare is Illegal.
I have to be clear about the Snare Trap before I am going to use it. Please help.

If it is not listed under the crab trap gear requirement, then it's probably illegal.
To be totally sure, phone 1-866-431-FISH.

Crab snares are illegal as far as I know
-
Im not sure about the snares, pretty sure they are illegal.
As for eating crabs from burrard inlet all I can say is I've eaten them and I've suffered no food related illness
-
What about leg-hold traps? Anyone?
-
The Leg Hold Trap is the Crab-Snare.
I don't see any here in Vancouver, but you can make it yourself and can use it with your fishing rod to catch the crabs from shore.
Problem is the regulation, nowhere is the information. ;D

use to sell crabs snares made by Danielson until DFO busted a few customers. They are 100% illegal to fish with.

I modified RLN's post to make it obvious... No need to ask any further. If it's not listed as LEGAL, it's ILLEGAL for fishing.
