the river is pretty bad this year...might be the fact that its the most crowded I or other local guys have ever seen it. only 1 hatchery fish to the beach and another rolled, not what I would call stellar ::)

Out for the day on Monday.  Fished for about 5 hours.  Three runs up near Allison and then 1 1/2 hours down at K/W Bridge.  Had one good hit just above Allison but that was it for the day.  My buddy had one hit at Allison.  Did not see any fish landed anywhere on the river.

According to my fishing journal, 52 steelhead to the boat this year.  29 of them were on my line.  All were caught on the Clearwater in Idaho.  The largest was a wild fish 37" long x 18.5" in girth.

The Clearwater is an awesome river. Most up here in BC havent a clue to not only the size of the river but the fish as well.
Spuds and steelhead Idaho has lots of both  ;D

2009 was a good year to say the least  :)
Really missed the Coq not opening tho.

T on Thursday to finish off '09...steelheading.

Happy New Years to everyone  ;D

By this year do you mean this steelhead season or all of 2009?

I took it as being this season...not last spring and before that.

1 in 4 trips. Used to have a dozen hookup by now. This season is not looking good so far. Why all the big numbers are from fishing elsewhere except the Vedder? I guess fishing in the city is only for the small trout and not the biggies ??? ;D

3 landed in 6 trips to the Vedder so far this season.  Must have hooked up at least 8 to 10 times but my hook setting technique might be worse than CG's.
