Title: Chehalis
Post by: patagonia on October 20, 2009, 09:50:35 AM
Why have they not imposed a boundary for fishing on the Chehalis similar to the change made on the Chilliwack at the boundary hole?? It seems insane to allow "fishermen" to hammer all the fish stacked up in the trench down from the hatchery...

its almost as though they dont care especially since the river blew through the bushed a few years ago. I think the part of the river coming out of the hatchery should be closed all together. Why fish there when you can fish the main river a short walk away  ::)

It would be nice to see some changes made to stop that sort of "angling"...

the hatchery only use wild fish for brood stock. those fish in the "hammer zone" are mostly hatchery fish. i guess they don't care about the return of hatchery fish since they will not be used for eggs or milt. But aren't all the hatchery fish entering the hatchery given to  the chehalis band as food anyway. just wondering :-\
