Title: Bottom Bouncing
Post by: Jace on October 19, 2009, 06:00:43 PM
I am just wondering why everyone is so against Bottom bouncing?
I understand if someone is out snagging the hell outta the fish and bagging them it is totally wrong.
Personaly i rarely BB but when i do 98% of the fish i catch are in the mouth ( using roe ) and i catch lots.
But when i go fishing i go for the sport, not for dinner. Last 4 times i have only bagged one female out of the 30+ fish.

Why? Fish sit on the bottom, so if you are bouncing your hook along the bottom (bottom bouncing) then you are flossing and foul hooking fish. That is why.

And why does that affect you so much, let the bouncers bounce, you should not lose sleep over how other people fish.
its a free country, fish how you want to fish, while its legal.

Being legal doesn't make it right.

How would you feel if your 16 y/o daughter or sister has sex with a 50 y/o man?
You'd probably be OK with that as it is legal, eh?

flossing comes from long leaders, not necessarily the depth of your bait.

You can also easily floss using floats.  Again, mostly depends on the leader length.  Or, the typical "end of drift hookset" which seems to be very typical of many fishermen I see on the vedder.
