I was browsing A&N today and I can see all the different
components to make your own spinners but I cant
find the wire that is used to make them.
My question is actually what kind of wire should one use, and where to get it?
And if someone could point me to the right place where I could find a step by step
instruction on how to work the wire so that it will hold?
Never min the last part I found it.

Thank You.

I use one of these to make the loop on each end of the wire one the body beads and clevise are attached

you can get really nice iridescent beads in red orange green etc at some craft stores and my favorite shop for wire and parts is Hubs.
Some people order bulk blades online from any of the various suppliers.

You can buy the wires from any tackle shop.
-
You can also simply put the two swivels and the blade together on a small split-ring.

Thank you for the tip.
Isn't that setup a bit light to cast out?

You need to add weight

I just use a few sets of pliers to bend the wire and it works well

Thank you iliketofish, nice instructions.
If I buy shafts, should I go with open or closed looped shafts?
Does someone has experience ordering from http://www.luremaking.com ?
-
personally I like the open ended wire shafts, but I don't think it really matters...it's just personal preference. Yes, I've ordered parts from luremaking.com and they shipped my order right away and it got here (sent from Ontario) by the end of the week. Good service, and they have soo much stuff!!

Highwater Tackle in North Vancouver is a great place with everything you need to make your own lures and great service as well.
-
Luremaking.com is good but they charge a lot for shipping/handling well you have to watch that with all of them.
Some others of interest-now that the Canuck buck is so strong it's once again worth your while to look @ US sources and there are some great ones.
Worthco probably the biggest all kinds of tackle for DIY (http://www.worthco.com/fish/index.html)
Lakeland I've bought some very well made components from these folks very easy to do business with (http://www.lakelandinc.com/)
Jann's Netcraft an old established company that's again very easy to do business with (http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/)
Fisherman's Shack some fine looking components (http://www.fishermanshack.net/cart.php)
Penn Tac probably the original fine finish spinners components once a household name now California based high charges for handling/shipping but the quality is much the same as it ever was (http://www.pen-tac.com/)

Yes, we use them under a float on a centerpin rod.
