Title: What kind of fish is this?

I had something to do in White Rock today and on the way back I stopped to see where would be possible to fish on Serpentine river.
As I was there I noticed this fish dead on the high tide line.

Can someone id it plz?

To save an other post:
On what part of Serpentine river is it permitted to fish?
Is it ok to fish by the Bird Sanctuary?

Starry Flounder for sure....Yummy...quite a unique flavor.   Some people really do not like it.

Strange fish.  I have seen them way up to the  high tide mark in small river estuarys in 2 feet of water.  What are they doing there?  Seems like they would just about in pure freshwater.

I would guess that they are chompin on scalpins, rotten salmon parts etc.

It is pretty normal to find starry flounder in the estuary portion of a river. They can be caught in the Tidal Fraser River from time to time during the incoming tide. It is also likely that a sea bird or other wildlife had killed it but decided not to eat it.

The freshwater regulations web page is fairly easy to navigate, but the tidal and salmon info page is just a mess imo. I just can't seem to find the regulations there.
