Title: Cod Fishery

I'm a relatively new angler, been at it for 5 seasons so far.
And i often hear reference to the Cod fishery in the East collapsing, when the subject of dwindling sockeye returns are the subject.
What are the parallels between the two and where were the Cod mismanaged?
