Post by: quincy on August 27, 2009, 03:12:40 PM: i have the 8'6" 3wt and the 10' 7 wt and i love them both. Good sensitivity and enough backbone to get good distance out of your cast. Not only that but their pretty as hell too ;D

Sometimes it feels a little heavy to cast but as far as a fighting rod goes it is very predictable and I like it a lot. I am with nuggy though if you can find a good condition used RPL or VPS (i have a vps too) go with that instead!

is it the rod or reel you find heavy? I got a light weight lampson. my rod is a 9ft 8wt too.what are your thought on the reel?

In any case, it's fine ....and the fact that it just costs an arm and not an arm and a leg helps :)

thanks for the post. ill be trying it out in salt on Sunday for the first time. hopefully it brings me luck!!and some skills ;D ;)
