Hey all,
I was hoping someone could recommend a good book on flies for our area. I have a trout book right now but it lists flies for the world. Ideally something with alot of pictures, as I'm new again to fly fishing, I can only name a few flies by looking at them.
Thanks!

The best book on fly fishing and flies for British Colunmbia is a book called the ''Gilly''. If you are new to fly-fishing this book is the bible. It is no longer in publication, but you can easily obtain it through used book stores. Just google it and store names will show. I cannot give new fly-fishers any better advice than to obtain this book. I still read my hardcover copy every year.
hope this helps tight lines

Well done, you will see very quickly what an essential learning tool this book is. It is a compilation of all the heavy hitter fly-fishing guru's and it is exclusively about British Columbia.

Hookmeup, if you tie your own flies , Phil Rowly has a great book on still water flies with great illustrations, easy tying instructions for the basic collection of the most commonly used patterns that are fishable on any lake.

Thanks for the reply bigsnag. I'm new again to fishing so I don't tie... yet? Not sure that I'll be able to, only because we have a 1 year old. So maybe when she's older I can start. :-\
