Title: West Coast of Vancouver Island coho fishing
Post by: Long_Cast on August 22, 2009, 08:03:52 AM
Apparently, two weeks ago they were massive amounts of cohos they were caught on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. They're biting almost anything and people are catching them using almost anything. An average day, people were hooking 15-20 cohos a day.  I heard they're still going pretty strong, but last week wasn't as good. They're saying this year is the best for cohos in recent memory.  A friend gave me a few nice cohos caught over there.

It is still VERY much happening. I'm just back in Port on a quick run, then back to Ukee tonight. The past couple of days we have seen coho up to and over 20 POUNDS! The numbers are down but only slightly over the week previous, and they are downright voracious! Often tough to get through them to target the springs!!

At that size, methinks we'll see some REAL Monsters come September! Might even break the record!!  ;D

Cheers,
Nog
