Since we're getting a few new participants on the forum each day, I've put up a poll at the top of the following page so please vote as I'd like to find out where you are all coming from... :) Thank you.

Fall salmon fishing on the vedder had ended and I wanted to go fishing, so I googled "vedder river trout fishing" up came a link with FWR. I signed up to the forum that day in december and a guy named Chris Gadsden mention of a fish I had never heard of 'steelhead' and ever since then iv been hooked to this site and the elusive steelhead.

You approached me when I was giving a talk at a cleanup organized by Vic Carrao. I was talking about the garbage problems and the way we could lessen the amount that is thrown along the banks of the Chilliwack Vedder River by careless fishers and other users as well as criminal dumping. You had similar thoughs on this and you told me about FWR and then we and other organized the Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Coalition who has taken 55 tons of garbage off the banks in the last 7 years or so. That is the good part as the bad part is, I have logged nearly 54 days here, just thing of all the fishing I have sacrificed. ;D ;D

A neighbour told me about the site.

Was looking for driving directions to Furry Creek, Googled it and this site came up!

I've always found message boards a great way to find info on any of my hobbies. A quick "bc fishing message board" google search directed me here. I also frequent another local site/message board that i became a member of and began posting on first, and heard of here as "the other site" through there.

Poll response given - internet search. Thanks.
Gotta get to 50... ;D

Found out about this from doing a google search, but also from other forums. Lurked for a while on a bunch and this is the only one that has enticed me to start participating, everyone seems really nice, respectful and genuinely interested in helping other fisherman and the fish themselves.

i was searching steelhead fishing techniques and i found it. it didn't become a subscriber till the following fall but was a visited from time to time. Since joining I have even won some hooks and a super nice float for having the "fishy shot". thanks Rod!I enjoy being a part of the site and have learned a great deal about sport fishing and ethics of sport fishing. Great job Rod and FWR crew! I will do my best to contribute back. :)

I just started into fishing a couple of years ago. While I was at the river, and seeing my struggles, someone was kind enough to help me out. He mentioned the FWR site and told me to check it out as a good way to learn about the sport and techniques. Presto... here I am!

Found it whilst surfing the web in the UK, prior to emigrating here in Oct 07.

Wuz trying to re-introduce myself to fishing a few years back - One site (can't remember which one) lead to another which lead me to FWR (the one I visit almost every day :) )
Started with info for Trout (basic and eventually fly fishing) and worked my way to the variety of Salmon fishing techniques.
Still waiting until I figure I'm good enough for the 'Journeyman ticket' ;D

I found out about the site from a freind of my moms who fishes the stave all the time. I checked it out and now im on the site almost every day. Lots of very good info on catching salmon in rivers. thanx rod for a great site.
-
Found out from an angler on the river that i helped out with some tips on how to get them springs. Became a good friend. so from a friend ;)
-
Was referred by a friend and has become a regular stop on my daily tour of the web.
-
I'm pretty sure it was just dumb luck for me. NOW look what it's got me into!?
-
A friend from the Hatchery suggested it was a great place to get my feet wet (pun intended) ;). As I'm relatively new to fishing, it has been a wealth of information. But I'm sure I'll still be posting a million questions so I'll ask for your patience in advance.
Cheers
Stephen
