hello all.
I just got back from my honey moon in Cabo san Lucas, Mexico after getting married in Banff on the 25th of July. It was a beautiful place to be!
I also happened to marry a a lovely lady that let me take a day out of our 6 day trip to go fishing by myself while she was at the spa and the beach!
I started at 8am on a small fly fishing boat. water was beautiful but very rough. I tried fly fishing but no luck as my skill set on the fly is not great yet and the wind made it difficult. Then I switched to live bait and the bites started to come. I ended up hooking 7 fish with only one to the boat! hard fish to keep on, but i did get to fight most of the fish for a few minuted before the spat the hook and got a free meal!! What a fight these beauty fish put on! very formidable opponent for any angler!! After the pic i released the fish.you are allowed to keep them if you want too.It was very hot and humid but didn't matter as I was too excited to notice until fishing was over. I hope al you guys have an opportunity to catch a rooster fish one day and enjoy a picture with one of these fantastic fish. next time i wont give up to hook one the fly. got to practice my skills. this was only my second time attempting fly fishing.

That rooster fish is beautiful, if you don't mind me asking. What did you catch him on?
That must have been an amazing honey moon in Cabo san Lucas. Congratulations ;D

It was live bait.not sure what the fish was called. but it was about 7 or 8 inches and kinda looked like a small snook. they like to come to the top to of the water to hit the prey too. so jerking a squid on top of the water or some large flyies work well to apparently.didnt work for me that day tho. just the live bait swiming maybe 10 feet or so below surface.
