Title: Chilliwack River, July 25th 2009: Scouting mission
Post by: calfisher on July 26, 2009, 02:34:36 PM
Started out at first light at the Vedder mid river.  Weather was nicely overcast keeping things cool.  Saw 20-30 other fishers but no reports of springs.  Many smolts moving my roe bags around and one coho caught himself on my intentionally larger hook (he was gently released).  Left at 8:30 to meet up with a buddy on the Fraser.

Fraser was higher than same time last year with PegLeg inaccessible without a boat.  I watched my buddy BBing with 6 others for 30 minutes with nothing to show.  As I was leaving saw a large spring (25+) porpoise between Peg Leg and the Concrete plant. 10 feet from the road.
